David Holland Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 16, 2025.
David "D" Holland, 39, suddenly passed away on August 12, 2025, in Port Charlotte, Florida. Born on December 19, 1985, in Davie, Florida, David lived a life defined by dedication-to his family, his work, and the values he held dear.

A skilled carpenter by trade, David spent many years working side by side with his father, Dave Holland. Their bond was not only familial but forged through shared craftsmanship and mutual respect. More recently, David relocated to Florida to provide better school and sports opportunities for his children-a testament to the unwavering devotion he had for them. In this new chapter of life, he took on the demanding role of a tree cutter, embracing the challenge with the same determination that marked everything he did.

David's life was centered around his family. He is survived by his wife, his cherished children-David, Alijah, and Sean-who were truly the light of his life; his father, Dave Holland; and mother, Maureen Holland. He also leaves behind a large and close-knit family including siblings Kristi, John, Kevin, Nina, Ryan, Nicholas, Shayne, and Matthew; cousins Derek, Jesse, and Nick; as well as many other beloved family members and countless friends whose lives he touched deeply.

He was preceded in death by his mother Cindy; grandmother Trudy ("Nanny"); grandfather Bill ("Pop Pop"); grandmother Pauline; grandfather Bill; and grandmother Joan.

David had a passion for sports that extended beyond playing basketball-he found great joy in coaching football and mentoring young athletes. Coaching his own children brought him immense pride and fulfillment. Whether casting a line while fishing or simply spending time with loved ones, David found happiness in moments shared with those closest to him.

Known for his radiant smile that could light up any room and a laugh that was truly contagious, David brought warmth wherever he went. His work ethic was unmatched-once he set his mind to something, there was no turning back until it was done. He never quit. That same perseverance shaped every aspect of his life-from carpentry to coaching to parenting.

A memorial celebration of his life will be determined at a later date

David "D" Holland leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering commitment to those he held dear. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.

Though our hearts are very heavy, we find comfort in knowing David's love and light will live on in the memories of all who know him. We will forever carry that love in our daily lives."

To anyone who would like to attend our memorial gathering, here is the information. Very casual, our pastor will say a prayer and say a few words, followed by family speaking. We will do a balloon release and send up a few chinese lanterns for our final goodbyes.
