David Hull Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 2, 2025.
David Woods Hull of Alpharetta, Georgia, 68, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025. He was born February 1, 1957 to Richard Ayre Hull, Jr and Mary Jane (Knorth) Hull in Red Wing, Minnesota. David's early adventures took him to Bangor, Maine, where he grew up with his four siblings. David quickly became known as an avid athlete and sports enthusiast.

David graduated from Bangor High School in 1975 and then went on to Colby College, where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration in 1979. But if you asked him, his real collegiate achievement was earning a spot in the brotherhood of Lambda Chi Alpha. There, among his beloved "Choppers," David forged friendships that would last a lifetime-equal parts fraternity and family.

He spent 46 years in the world of commercial real estate and retail leasing, a career that allowed his articulate mind, natural charisma, and storytelling chops to shine. Whether closing a deal or chatting over coffee, David was always about people-kind, thoughtful, and genuine to the core.

David is survived by his wife of 43 years, Pamela Worcester Hull; their three children-Sarah Hull Wade (Brian), Katie Hull Navarro (Ernesto), and Jonathan David Hull (Joanna). He was blessed with seven adoring grandchildren: Camille, Cal, Beau, Kyla, Ollie, Charlotte, and Eleanor. He is also survived by his brother Richard Ayre Hull III, his sister Margaret Winchell and his many nieces and nephews.

He was known as Bampy to his grandchildren-a title he wore proudly. Teaching them to swim, to golf, to play backgammon, and how to feed the neighborhood turtles, David's joy was in their laughter and company.

Known for his big vocabulary and even bigger heart, David had the rare gift of being funny, incredibly smart, and endlessly generous. He took a joke as easily as he gave one, and always left you feeling a little lighter, a little better.

His friends describe him as "highly respected", "a titan in the real estate industry", "going out of his way to be kind", "a positive force", "consistently good and thoughtful", "one of the good guys", "an amazing person", "amazing dad and grandad", "optimistic", "acted with character and walked with integrity", "widely known as treating people right and doing the right thing", "a unique combination of warm heart, quick wit", "the most loyal friend ever" and "genuine to the core."

David was the kind of person who showed up-not for attention, but because that's just who he was. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, loyalty, and love-woven through his family, his friendships, and every life he touched. David Hull represented the best of us, and though he may no longer be at the table telling stories, his voice will echo in our hearts always. In the words of Matt Brown: "If we all carry a little bit of Hully and his spirit with us, the world will be in a better place."

He will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 27, 2025 in Alpharetta.

Dear Pam, Jonathan and all your family, we send our deepest condolences. David exemplified everything that was written about him in his obituary. He was kind, assured and great fun to be around on all our youth soccer travels. We have such great memories of those times together. We will be in Canada at the time of the Memorial service but we will continue to pray for you all. Much love - Gary & Di Nixon

Pam- I’m so sorry for your loss. I remember a late night breakfast after an evening at Benjamin’s when I knew you and Dave would be a couple. You had many wonderful years together and I suspect you are comforted knowing he was loved and will always be loved. Take care.

Dear Pam and family, So very sorry to hear of Dave´s passing! Your family has lost a huge part of your incredible family! Dave was a very unique man who took great care of you and his loving children along with all of his thirteen grandchildren! If you knew him, that gentle smile was one you won´t ever forget! Living in Georgia, was his real home where his children and Pam were together as a family even though he grew up in Maine where his family lived as well! His love of life was evident by his family and friends in his extended life of work and home!!

David, I have loved you since you were 8 and I was 16.
You were the cutest, most loving little boy.
You never changed in your love and compassion for others.
We kept in contact all these years.
You are special, and will be missed more than words can say.
With much love,
Linda Brookings Hull
