David Lee Kennedy, 57, of Grants Pass, OR, passed away on September 15, 2024. Born on October 21, 1966, David was known for his strong, loyal, and unwavering nature, often described as a man of few words but with deep convictions.

David graduated from Central Valley High School in 1985 and dedicated many years to his craft as a journeyman roofer for Ark Design in Redding, CA, where he worked for nearly two decades. He also spent his high school years employed at Cypress Car Wash. Upon returning to Oregon a decade ago he served as a maintenance worker and housekeeper at a memory care community, showcasing his caring nature and dedication to helping others.

In his leisure, David cherished the outdoors. In his younger days, he was passionate about camping, fishing, and bird hunting. As he grew older, his love shifted towards the serene beach houses along the Oregon Coast, reveling in the beauty of Highway 101. A lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys and an enthusiast of all things Sasquatch, David's interests painted the picture of a man deeply connected to his passions and hobbies.

David is survived by his partner of 36 years, Patricia Huitt, stepdaughter Ericka Howard, sons Nicholas and Trevor Kennedy, nephew Dillan Kennedy, who was like a son to him, grandchildren Tobias, Emery, Arielle, and Aurora, parents Herbie and Earlene Kennedy, siblings Debbie and Scott Speelman, Donna Kennedy, Suzie and Mike Smith, Ricky Kennedy, in-laws Claude Burrell, Susann Nelson, Pam and Scott Dwinell, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, mother-in-law Linda Collicott, several aunts and uncles, and cousin Steven Field.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in David's memory to the American Heart Association, Shriners Hospitals for Children, or the American Cancer Society, specifically for children. Through these contributions, his legacy of care and support can continue to help others.

I've been thinking about you a lot. Since your passing you missed a few things. Thanksgiving and Christmas were hard without you there but we still met as a family and gave our thanks. Your dad's passing brought in Aunt Donna whom we all haven't seen in so long. There's a Kennedy Family Reunion Coming up in June. I completed everything the courts wanted and now I'm begging the battle to get my boys back. Tobias already lives with me he moved in this last weekend actually. I miss you so much and I've seen you in my dreams I know your watching over me and my family. I love you. RIP

I´m on my private birthday trip for you. I went to Jacksonville and had brunch with Resa yesterday then came back for some peace and quiet. This is a wonderful home and the owners seem very nice. I´m heading home in a few hours to spend one more day off work then back to the grind. I am looking into getting a different job, one that will sustain me for the remainder of my working years. This housekeeping is rough on my body and I sure can´t do it forever so I will be moving on. Either way you would be proud of me for keeping my head high. I love n miss you greatly. Happy 58th Birthday

I sure do miss you. I have a private trip for myself planned for your birthday. I don´t want to go alone but I guess this is my life now, without you. I think I´m gonna check out the Bigfoot cage. We always said we were going to go see it. I love you so much Dave, my Rock.

I really don´t know where to start. You will be missed so much Dave. Who am I gonna send Dallas Cowboy jokes to now? I tried to always find the ones I knew would get to you but you always handled them well. Thank you for taking me over to the coast when I last visited you guys and for making me feel welcome anytime I was there. I know you are still with us and watching over your family and that is what matters. Till we meet again brother. I love you

David, My Rock, you will be greatly missed. I have loved you from the moment I met you at Cypress Car Wash. I made you send my car through again because it didn´t come clean the first time around. You did such a great job so I left my phone number on a $5 bill. You called that night and asked to speak to the brunette, yea me. You drove out to my house and we have been together ever since. The best $5 I ever spent! Our 3 wonderful kids have been so attentive since you departed, you would be so proud of them.
I will love you until the end of time
