David Lang Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 6, 2024.
David C. Lang, 74, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2024, in Venice, FL after a long illness.

Dave is survived by his two daughters, Laura and her husband Jamie and Heather and her husband John. He also leaves behind siblings Joan, Sara, and Terry (Patricia), as well as five grandchildren: Devon, Fiona, John, Josh, and William. He is predeceased by his parents Chuck and Muriel.

He retired as Director of Human Resources, NYS Office for the Aging after a long and successful career and moved to Florida to enjoy retirement in his dream home on a golf course. He spent the last 10 years in Venice, FL with his daughter and family in Venice, FL.

Dave was an avid Buffalo Bills fan, Harley Davidson enthusiast and golfer. He attended Superbowl 45 and the words "wide right" still stung. The annual Harley Rendezvous in NY was a highlight of his year for decades. He worked hard at his golf game and loved to share the course with family and friends. He could often be found enjoying a Coors Light and a cigar.

In honor of Dave, watch a Bills game with him in mind, plan a motorcycle ride on his behalf or play a round of golf.

Services will be private and at the family's convenience.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in David's memory may be made to the Michael J Fox The Parkinson's Foundation at https://give.michaeljfox.org/give.

We end with one of his favorite sayings "Go Bills!"

Some of my memories ...Euchre parties at "The Pad." Watching Monday Night Football on TV at Deb and Dave's on Hall Road in Brockport. Shooting pool at Bud and Jim's. Gary and me going out to dinner at The Chessman with Deb and Dave. Lots of good times. I pray God gives peace and comfort and fond memories to all of Dave's family and friends. Sincere condolences to you all.
