North Hero -David R. Lawder, 57 years old, passed away unexpectedly on September 16th 2025 in North Hero Vermont. He was born in Plainfield, New Jersey on February 6th, 1968, where he lived until the age of 11 when his parents moved to Northfield Vermont. He was charismatic and charming with a contagious laugh, and you couldn't help but love him. The gang of eight became his family for many adventures. He enjoyed camping, gardening, cooking, entertaining at home for family and friends, family night board games, many vacations to the ocean, Lyric Theatre and Disney movies. Known to be a clean "freak" he found a place in his heart for a puppy and named him Kubo (after his favorite movie) who became his baby for local drives and hiking. Known as "Paapoo" to his 3 grandchildren, Honora 17, Cainen 13 and Letty 12, Halloween was the event of the year.

He was preceded by his father: Ronald C. Lawder, Mother Penny Hinman-Lawder, brother Scott N. Lawder.

He leaves behind: his daughter Kaitlyn Friot-Kingwood, Ex-wife Pennie Companion, brother Ernest Lawder, sister Jenn Boardman and His girlfriend Jennifer Cook.

There will be private services with the family.

David, gone far too soon from us. You have gone down in my book as my favorite coworker of all time. You made me feel welcome from the 1st day I met you at Champlain Dental Group. We ran that front desk like a well oiled machine. Yes, you had OCD but as you soon had realized, it didnt bother me. You always were ready and willing to lend an ear. Even after I moved away to Florida we still kept in contact and I will cherish our deep kindred spirits. I miss those talks when I was lost and didn't know what to do. You might not had the answers but you were like a big brother and just listened and that carries water. May God be with you and I know that you are in a much better place. Much love, Liza Rogers

I wish we could have said goodbye. Thanks for being a grandfather to my kids and for the many private talks in the garage. We didnt always see eye to eye but we had respect for eachothers perspective. And love. We had love.
