Grampa was a character and I loved him for it. He always showed his love to me and my sister, my mom and dad, and all the family. He was really a great person to talk to, with so many war stories and interesting perspectives. One of the things I admired most about him was how patriotic he was. He was a true American, in everything he did, from joining the Army, to opening a steak restaurant, then a western club, and then going west to seek fortune in California. He really represented the American dream. Much love to everyone, and especially grandma Bea.

My love is with all the family. Please give a big hug to Grandma Bea for me.
Grandpa Dave will be missed. Growing up, he was always so much fun to be around; playful, fun, and a great sense of humor. He loved politics, and it was enjoyable to engage him in conversation and debate about news of the world. He taught me all about vitamins and lecitin...mmmm, and whenever I have Postum, I think of him.
He was a bold entrepenuer, and never gave up. My mum always tells my sister and I about his restaurants, and the Berwick Manor where she had the greatest broiled rib steak with a mushroom on top in her life.
My love to all my family and his friends.
Love,
Jane

For My Uncle Dave and to Aunt Bea, Rob (Ellen), Monroe (Karin), Marilyn (Ben) and all my relatives. My Uncle Dave (who I called Dad) was a perfect example of what all Uncles should be. He and my Aunt (who I still call Mom) were always there for me, their home was always open for me and they showed and shared their love to me and others at all times. He was much loved by his many nieces and nephews and we all will miss him deeply.
My Dad, Dave's older brother Leo, loved his "Davie," and I consider myself very fortunate to have had a wonderful Uncle Dave. David Lerner was also a member of the Mason's and as is their motto, was giving and generous to many in the community. Uncle Dave (Dad) I love you. Sheila (Lerner) - Your Grateful Niece
