David Lindberg Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 25, 2025.
Born on Nov 7, 1952, in Pittsburgh, Dave was the beloved son of the late Devine and Leora (Laich) Lindberg. He graduated from South Hills High School in 1970 and was promptly drafted into the Vietnam War, serving 2 years stationed in Panama.

Upon returning from military service, Dave completed his Liberal Arts degree from the University of Pittsburgh, further enriching his love of acting, literature and the arts.

Dave worked as a mail carrier for the USPS before following his dream of becoming an actor. He moved to NYC, where he built a career in the hotel business and remained passionate about the stage and storytelling throughout his life.

Dave's favorite pastimes were reading, film and spending time at the family's beloved camp, Luckyridge - -a place that brought him deep joy and peace.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 27 years, Jayne (Erger) Lindberg; his son, Taylor Lindberg; and his step-daughter Alison. He is also survived by his sisters, Lorelei (Steve) Kubiak and Verda Sue (Tom) Graf as well as many extended family members and friends who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Per his wishes, Dave will be cremated and his ashes scattered at Luckyridge Camp.

A memorial will be held by his sisters at a later date.

Dave, your couch in Astoria was everyone's first stop when we moved to New York! You were the best kind of friend - non-judgmental, open and caring - with a quick wit and a love of practical jokes. From Pittsburgh to New York to New Mexico, I'm glad we stayed connected all these years and the world is a little sadder without you in it.
Rest in Power, my friend
