Mr. Lodes was one of my favorite teachers at AHS. He had wonderful sense of humor and made learning fun and exciting! We were so fortunate to have him as our teacher. He will be missed.

I'm very sorry to hear this news. My prayers and sympathies to your entire family. I really enjoyed working with Dave on the condo association accounting these past six years. He was always very interested in the things going on in my life beyond work and I will miss talking to and working with him.

I knew David from the time of being pledge brothers at UW-Oshkosh and later through his years at Arrowhead, as teacher of my kids and later Dean and administrator at Arrowhead. There is only one thing that can be said: Dave was a good man - he will be missed by all he touched. Godspeed, my friend.

Mary, Matt and Katie,
We have many fond memories of Dave, many of which were at a Balthazor or Lodes family function. I recall Dave always asking me questions about my life, with a genuine interest in what I had to say. Always listening.
Mary, I know it's hard for you to believe this ... I have tears in my eyes as I type this! Recall the tape you and Dave gave me, "Tears in Heaven?" What a memory that is and how appropriate it is right now. Be the strong woman I know are, and know that many shed a tear for you today.
Matt and Katie - your Dad never leaves you. He made you into who you are today - beautiful people.

I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Lodes was such a special teacher. The sciences were my favorite classes because of his fun and easy going approach to teaching. He was always so approachable and always took time to talk and give advice even to silly high school students! He made such a huge impression on my life and I invited him to my college graduation from vet school. He gave me a litter box/scoop as a gift. It makes me smile every time I think about it! He was a great man who touched so many people's lives. He will be missed.

My children, Todd & Janelle Wildrick, went to Arrowhead and absolutely loved Mr. Lodes!! He made so many positive impressions on the students. Our hearts go out to his family. To quote Dr. Seuss: "Don't cry because it's over.....smile because it happened."

So very sorry for your loss. He was a great educator, and his decisions touched many lives. I am glad I got a chance to interview him for a class assignment because the things we discussed helped me further down the road in advocating for my own kids and their education.

We only met David at Matt and Meghan's wedding so we didn't know him very well. We do however know his son Matt very well through his marriage to one of our favorites, Meghan McGlocklin. David can rest comfortably knowing his son will carry the Lodes name to new levels of respectability and success. The Lodes family raised a wonderful son. Eternal rest knowing you've done well David.
We would like to extend our prayers for comfort and God's peace to the entire Lodes family.

I'm saddened by Dave's passing, as he was not only my uncle but also my godfather. He definitely made an imprint on me over the years, as a "typical Lodes" with all that goes with that, and as the man who served as my godfather. We all have a very heavy heart - and will for some time - but I am praying that his burden is lighter now that he's with God. Love you, Uncle Dave.
