David L. Manseau of Ayer, MA, formerly of Dracut, MA & Ocala, FL; 87

AYER, MA - David "Dave" L. Manseau, of Ayer, MA, passed away on the 20th of February 2025, at the age of 87.

David had been a full-time resident of Massachusetts for the last 10 years after being a snowbird in Ocala, FL with his wife Frances for 18 years, they previously lived in Dracut, MA for 25 years where they raised their family.

Born June 24, 1937 to the late Leo and Jeannette (Clement) Manseau. He was raised in Lowell, MA. Dave was husband to the late Janice (Dulemba) d. 1965 and Frances (Bauch) d. 2015.



An accomplished trumpet player with Jazz being his favorite music. Dave played in the Lowell High School Band and performed in clubs around the Lowell area. He graduated from Boston Conservatory of Music with a teaching degree. He then began teaching music in the Rye NH school system and then spent 30 plus years as the Band Director and retired from the Westford, MA school system. While teaching in Westford he met and married his wife Frances who was also a teacher.



Dave is survived by his children, David W. Manseau and his wife, Jennifer, Donna Matthias and her husband, Ernest of St. John, USVI, William P. Manseau and his wife, Nicole of Ashby, MA, and James R. Manseau and his wife, Cindy of Pepperell, MA; his grandchildren, Seala, Sierra, Kyra, Gavin, Casey, Megan, and Matthew; and siblings, William, Barbara Hamer & her husband Reg, Leo (Skip) & his wife Shirley, and Robert & his wife Deb.

He also leaves behind many loving relatives and friends. Dave's family would also like to express their gratitude to his childhood friends Gabriel Gouveia and George Ares, among others, for their friendship and support they had given our father.

He was also predeceased by his granddaughter, Skyla Matthias, nephew Paul Hamer, mother-in-law Leona Bauch, and sisters-in-law Charlene Manseau and Mary Manseau.

At David's request, there will be no calling hours. Friends and Relatives are invited to his Memorial and Interment on Saturday, June 21st at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Chelmsford, MA.
