I just found out about David´s passing this week. I hadn´t seen him in 20 years since we worked together when I first moved to the US.
He was a great coworker - super smart but didn´t ram it down your throat. He always had time for questions & if asked he usually "had code for that".
He had a great sense of humour and a wicked little smile to go with it. Just the other week I remember him telling me that Americans love TLAs. What are they I asked? Three letter anagrams.
He gave me a CD one time to listen to - Basement Jaxx. Ashamed to say I never listened to it before giving it back so I will now go and give them a listen, raise a glass, a remember the good person he was.
My heart goes out to those he left behind.

David and I worked together for many years, and shared an office for a while. He made the world a more colorful place. I'm so sorry to learn that he's gone. His old coworkers have missed him and he has fans far and wide among his old clients.

I am so deeply sorry to learn of David's death; I was searching online recently, wondering about him. I was his girlfriend many years ago, around 1990 I guess, when we were both grad students at the U of Chicago -- it was during the time he left and began working at SPSS. David was such an incredibly vital and unique person, and such a contrast to anyone or anything I experienced in that environment -- I vividly remember his apartment full of plants (and his pet iguana!), and music CDs stacked everywhere (and all the music he introduced me to), and the tiny kitchen in which he produced wonderful Indian dinners for big gatherings of friends. Carla, I don't know you but my heart goes out to you for your tragic loss.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.
We didn't see eye to eye at work and would often butt heads but through his Tetris way of putting the donation items inside a gaylord was just as fine as the way I worked, I just never realized it until after his passing that he taught me this.
Such talent in his work, the necklace he made for Carla and all the stories told, I wish I could have gotten to know him better outside of work.
Rest easy, David.

I always remember David as a kind person. Didn't matter how long it had been since we spoke but when we talked to each other we could pick up where we left off. Our families would get together once a year to stay at their home or go on an adventure. We saw each other at family events but always had a warm smile and kind words. I know he is reunited with his family in heaven. Gone too soon. Wish you could've stayed longer.
