When I lived in Natick, MA back in the 1960's, I used to watch Dave on WBZ-TV. My husband and I retired to Florida in 1995. Shortly after, we purchased a boat. Inside the glove box was a registration with Dave's name on it. We were excited that we had a boat that was once owned by Dave Maynard of Boston. Our condolences to you, Pat, and your family.

Back in the Spring of '80? '81? a friend and I boarded a Boston to Bermuda cruise on the USS Rotterdam. In Bermuda we rented mopeds and my handlebars locked up and I crashed. Right behind me was Dave with some friends. He picked me up, put me on the back of his moped, and the bunch of us headed to the beach. He walked me in for the salt water to heal the welts on my legs. We became cruise mates and friends. In fact, I was half moved into a basement apt in his house in Winthrop when I met my future husband (Dave attended our wedding) who whisked me away to Texas for several years. We kept in touch for awhile but eventually our lives went in different directions. I never met Pat but wish to extend my sympathies. And thank you Dave for rescuing me all those years ago. May you rest in peace.

As a Bostonian, I listened to "Maynard In The Morning" faithfully for years on WBZ radio. Dave was one of the best in the business. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I can still hear Dave Maynard's voice, as I used to over WBZ radio. He was a constant morning companion for many years--at home or in the car. I'm glad he was able to enjoy some retirement years here in Florida before his illness took over. Condolences to his family.

Pat, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in your time of sorrow. May your memories bring you comfort. I had the pleasure of meeting both you and David through our mutual friend, Suzan. I will remember the times with a smile.

Smooth sailing Dave. I remember you fondly on WBZ radio when I lived in Chelsea, MA and Townsend, MA, and the "trivia" craze that you were into. I even won a ski trip to Snowvillage Lodge near North Conway once because I knew that Route 2 was also known as the Mohawk Trail! Warmest thoughts to Dave's family. He'll be truly missed.
