David McGrath, beloved husband of Kayley McGrath of Airdrie, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the age of 31 years. David grew up in Calgary with his siblings and after finishing school in Calgary, David moved to Vancouver to study aviation mechanics at BCIT. He acquired many different licenses in aviation. David travelled extensively around North America through his work including both the North Pole and the South Pole. He later met the love of his life, Kayley and together they had two beautiful boys, Peyton and Brayden. David loved airplanes, corvettes, cats, dogs, hockey but most of all he loved his family. David is survived by his loving wife Kayley; his children Peyton and Brayden; his parents, Bruce and Karin; his siblings Victoria and Matthew; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends both in Canada and Sweden. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Airdrie, 300 Towerlane Drive) on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North) on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to The Calgary Humane Society, 4455 – 110th Avenue S.E., Calgary, AB T2C 2T7, Telephone: (403)205-4455, www.calgaryhumane.ca. In living memory of David McGrath, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.

I worked with David at Stampede Park for a number of years. I am deeply saddened to hear about his passing. It is heartbreaking losing someone so young with his whole life ahead of him. My deepest condolences to his wife and children and to the rest of his family in this difficult time.

Don't even know what to say because I have not lost my best friend, partner, and father to my children so I don't know how you feel. I do know though, that with time you will see glimpses of David in those two little boys--- they will make a face, they will say something that reminds you of something David would have said, they will laugh and hug you when you need it the most and they will grow into amazing young men that will every day remind you that David is still with you through them.
