David McQuiston, Sr. Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 23, 2023.
Dave (David) A. McQuiston, Sr., age 77, a resident of Downingtown, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2023, following a lengthy illness.

He was the son of the late Alexander David McQuiston and Dorothy Jean McQuiston (Faulkner) of Gladwyne, Pennsylvania.

He was an avid outdoorsman who spent over fifty years traveling to the family hunting camp in Clinton County, Pennsylvania. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends there. You could always count on him leaving the day after Thanksgiving for deer season.

When he wasn't at the cabin, you often found him outside working around his Downingtown property and keeping an eye on the local wildlife.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Ann (Utz), his son David, Jr. (Erin) of West Chester, Pennsylvania and Steven (Danielle) of Stockton, NJ, and daughter Deborah Dillon (Mark) of Haslett, Michigan.

He was known as "Pop-Pop" to his seven grandchildren: David III and Michael McQuiston of West Chester, Madison Leap, Brady and Alex McQuiston from Stockton, N.J., and Jack and Della Dillon from Haslett, Michigan.

Being the oldest of 11 children, an abundance of nieces and nephews called him Uncle Dave.

He is survived by his brothers Glenn and Brian McQuiston and his sisters Susan Mckelvey, Diane Wheaton, Janet Pugliesi, Jill Foulk, Debra Carzo, Carol Stumpo, and Dorothy Coleman. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert McQuiston.

His life will be honored by family Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the Thorndale Inn, Downingtown, Pa., from Noon to 3:00 PM.
