MAY 26, 1924 — FEB. 6, 2008SIGOURNEY — David E. Noller, 83, of Sigourney, died of cancer Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008, at the Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney.David was born May 26, 1924, near Sigourney, to Glenn H. and Bernice (Snakenberg) Noller. He graduated from Sigourney High School in 1941 and attended Iowa State University before serving in the Army Air Corps during World War II. On July 10, 1945, he married Katherine Jean McCuen at the Sigourney United Methodist Church. David was a grain and livestock producer for 60 years, retiring in 2005. He was active in countless organizations and has served on many boards and committees including the Sigourney United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir and was a trustee, Keokuk County State Bank board, Keokuk County Health Center board, Keokuk County Expo board, Sigourney Area Development Corporation board, 50-year member of Webb Lodge No. 182 A.F. and A.M., Master Swine Producer in 1952, National Livestock and Meat Board, president and director of the Iowa Beef Improvement Association, charter member of the Iowa Cattlemen's Association, Iowa Hog Cholera Eradication Committee, committeeman of the American International Charolais Association and a 1995 Iowa Master Farmer. He enjoyed traveling, family and friends, and Hawkeye and Cyclone sports.Survivors include his daughter: Nancy Kay Jones, of Spokane, Wash.; son: Jon David Noller and wife Cheryl, of Dallas City, Ill.; five grandchildren: Dr. Mark Stephen Jones, Jennifer Lyn Reichert and husband Blake, Mia Marie Mulholland and husband Ryan, Ali Jean Noller and Joseph Jon Noller; four great-grandchildren: Andrew David and Ian Darby Jones, Kale Tyler and Samantha Brynn Reichert; two brothers: Donald E. Noller and wife Jane, of Juno Beach, Fla., and Thomas H. Noller and wife Evelyn, of Lantana, Fla., and very dear friends: Wayne and Judy Frank and their family.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Katherine Jean in 1992; son-in-law: Dr. David W. Jones and twin great-granddaughters: Brynn Katherine and Tyler Sydney Reichert.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Sigourney United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John Hembry officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Sigourney. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, at the Reynolds-Powell Funeral Chapel in Sigourney, where the family will be present from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. There will be a Masonic Service at 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.A memorial fund has been established for the Sigourney United Methodist Church or Hospice of Keokuk County.
