David was an amazing man and he taught me so many things in his lifetime and even in death. I am so grateful for knowing a man of such honesty about the struggle that many know nothing about. He shared with me and encouraged me to face my own fears head on and reminded me daily that I was NOT alone!!!! David/"D-Moe", I must say I thank God for the pleasure and opportunity to know both men in this lifetime. "Complicated Melody" I will always remember Law#1 and so much more that you imprinted on me.

I worked with David at Duke Energy. He was always the one to challenge me to get out of my shell, get out of my comfort zone, and be the me he knew I was. When I lost my job he reached out to me to make sure I was ok and to make sure I wouldn’t give up on my dreams. David was truly a wonderful man, a great friend, an amazing listener, and someone who will be missed always!!! RIP Buddy! You’ll never be forgotten!!

I am so very sorry! I too worked with David at Duke Energy. He and I (while in different Departments) had offices next to each other. I will never forget how kind and generous he was to me - especially given I had just relocated and didn't yet know anyone. He regularly checked in on me and was also there with a fist bump to say hello. I later got to know him a little better and always looked forward to running into him/catching up. He was truly a light and will be missed by so many. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends in this difficult time. Peace be with you.

Met Lil' David around 13 years ago. We were a couple of the youngest of the bunch we hung out with, so instantly, he took me under his wing, and watched out for me. We ended up realizing we worked at the same mall, and David helped me to obtain a better opportunity than the company that I worked for. That's what he did to people that he cared about... he was a friend and a brother to all, a motivator and encourager, and he will be truly missed. God bless you friend, looking forward to seeing you again ❤ All my love to the family. May God bless you and comfort you in every way.

I will be forever grateful for the time I got to spend with you and our journey together at Duke Energy. My favorite memory was when David called my mom on my wedding day to check on me and the weather. We ended up having a tornado just shortly after our vows but David was dressed to impress, iPhone in hand to capture every moment. We were able to squeeze in pictures in between storms and he helped the photographer while snapping his own pictures at the same time. I will forever miss hearing “My Sammy”, the funny faces you would make in my office window, bursting in my office just to say hello, chatting about our kiddos and so many more! God bless your family in this time of sorrow.
