David Pipkin Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 22 to Mar. 23, 2023.
David was born in Colorado Springs, CO but did not spend much time there. He did, however, have the best summer of his life there in 1986 when he was 8 years old. Most of his childhood was spent in Surry County Virginia where he was a gifted student but known mostly as a nerdy kid who was very funny. Summers were spent swimming in the James River and tromping through the unruly woods in the surrounding area. David went to high school in Berkley County SC where he made his best and lifelong friend James.

David spent almost his entire adult life in Las Vegas, NV. David was a retired security officer having climbed from unarmed security details in apartment complexes to working his way, ultimately, into surveillance at a Las Vegas Strip casino. He retired to help his mother with his terminally ill father (David Pipkin 1955-2017) and in turn after his father passed David cared for his terminally ill mother (Judith Pipkin 1954-2018). David then devoted himself to his wife and children, becoming a nontraditional homemaker. David was a big softee who brought laughter wherever he went. The ladies loved David but his heart belonged to Sharon Fisher who he made a family with. A family he was so proud of.

He is survived by Wife Sharon Fisher, Daughters Kaitlyn Pipkin, Sarah Pipkin, beloved pets Gracie LouLou Fisher and Winslow Guadalajara Pipkin, Sister Carrie Podhirny and Brother-in-Law Kenny Warren.

He did not want a funeral or any memorial really so instead we had breakfast and told stories. So many funny stories exist that it is impossible to not think about David without simultaneously laughing and crying. He is so missed and so loved, and a hole exists that can never be filled. But I invite you try. Please leave any thoughts, prayers or memories as our words are what keep him here in the present.

I was so sorry to hear of David's passing. I remember him as a baby. We share a birthday, but I am older. Knew his mom, loved her. Therefore, I love her children and grandchildren. I have you in my heart and prayers.
