David William "Rev. Booger" Pittman, 48, of Rossville, died Monday, June 29, 2009.He was born in Memphis, Tenn. on Feb. 21, 1961, but lived in the North Georgia area most of his life and was of the Christian faith. He was employed with Shaw Industries as an electrician for more than 10 years and was a member of the United States Coast Guard. He was a member of the A.R.M. Group (Association of Recovering Motorcyclists), as well as a writer for Road Rash Magazine. He was always active in many different charities such as Stockings Full of Love and fundraising for National Guard troops serving overseas.He was preceded in death by his father, John William Pittman; daughter, Cynthia Lynn Pittman; and a special uncle, William 'Boogie' Edington.Survivors include his loving wife, Pam Pittman of Rossville; mother, Helen Pittman of Ringgold; son, Alex William Pittman of Rossville; sister, Janice Anderson of Nashville, Tenn.; special niece, Lea Michelle Anderson; and numerous other family, cousins and friends of the A.R.M. Group.Memorial services are Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Fort Oglethorpe chapel of Wilson Funeral Homes with Brother John Hitchens and Brother Jimmy Cornette officiating. Burial will be private.The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Fort Oglethorpe chapel.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Carter Hope Center, 506 E. David was a cherished friend and will be greatly missed. I would not be the person I am today without knowing him. My heart and prayers go out to David's family and friends.
