Johnna Tilghman Davis
October 10, 2024
Tracey and Vicki, I know this is very late in coming, but I just now learned of David's passing. I last spoke with him in the fall of 2022. My late husband Ken Tilghman was a long time friend of David's from back in the late 70s and early 80s "Magic Moment" days. I met David in 1987, and saw him several times a year , until Kenny died a few years after Hazel did. For a time after Ken died it was hard to see him -it was all too fresh and raw seeing David without Ken. Thankfully, I saw him again in 2016, and I still felt as welcomed as ever. We spoke a few times afterward, checking in before and after each hurricane. It meant everything that David chose to still be my friend as an extension of his love for Ken. Thank you both for shaping my friend David's life and bringing him such joy.

We are very sorry for your loss and will say an extra prayer for you and your family. Dave always greeted us with a smile and a wave whenever we passed by his home and will be missed.

David was Mr. Junk man. He was always stripping AC units and recycling metal. I would constantly find wheels and bumpers in my driveway that he left to be sandblasted or welded. David worked on the barter system. "You do this for me, I do that for you." We have missed he and Vicky in our neighborhood. Now we miss him until eternity. God speed David...safe journey.

We will miss David and our very special friendship. Some of his antics will be memories we cherish and have to laugh about. He knew he could always count on his "Billy". David was always just a phone call away. David recently received an award for 25 years as a member at the Eagles. He was so proud. Losing David will leave a big hole in our lives.

He was my Daddy-O and I was his Kid-O. He was always so much fun and lived his life as though every day was Saturday.
I´m so thankful for allllll the cherished, great moments we shared.
And a very weird fact is that every day when I look in the mirror, I see his eyes shining through mine. (I´m happy he gave me his blue eyes!)
Rest in peace, Daddy-O and a great. Ig CHEERS to your fabulous reunion with Hazel! I will love and miss you forever.
