David Lee Pugh

July 26, 1967 – March 26, 2025

David Lee Pugh, age 57, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on March 26, 2025, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. Born in Indiana on July 26, 1967, David spent the last 26 years of his life in San Antonio, where he was known and loved by many.

David faced a difficult early life, but never let it define him. His positive spirit, strong faith, and determination to never give up inspired everyone around him. He was always the first to lend a hand-or give his last dollar-to someone in need.

An animal lover through and through, David had a special bond with his little dog, Tango, who rarely left his side. Locals in the area often spotted the two of them running errands together-David and Tango were a familiar and heartwarming pair.

David was passionate about cars and earned his Automotive Technology certification from Lincoln Tech in Indianapolis. He had a gift for fixing cars and could bring just about any engine back to life. He also had a deep love for music, often writing his own songs and playing guitar. In his younger years, he played both guitar and drums in a local band. Dave also held a black belt in karate and approached life with the same strength.

Dave had a heart for encouraging others. He created a very successful social media site devoted to sharing positivity, hope, and inspiration through daily uplifting posts and Bible verses. He would be overjoyed to know how many people he touched, encouraged, and uplifted through his words.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mae and Dru Alonzo Pugh; his sister, Cleda "Lee" Casner; and his brother-in-law, Gregory Scott Killen.

He is survived by his daughter, Ali (Colen); his sisters, MaryAnn Killen and Lisa (Myron) Hubbard; his grandchildren, Donivan, Luke, and Bella; his beloved nephew, Brian; several other nieces and nephews; many cherished friends; and of course, his constant companion, Tango who will be cared for by his special friend, Paula.

A private celebration of life for family will be held in Indiana on April 12 to honor his memory. A separate celebration with friends will be held in San Antonio, Texas, at a later date, allowing all who loved him to gather in remembrance and love.
