David J. Simard, 32, of Lowell, formerly of Tyngsboro passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 3, 2020. Born on February 26, 1988 in Lowell, he was the son of the late Patricia (Ball) Simard and David A. Simard & his wife Carmen Mercado of Dracut who survive him. David grew up in Tyngsboro and graduated from Greater Lowell Technical High School in 2006. After graduation David worked as an electrician, but he was most recently employed as a bartender which suited his upbeat attitude and friendly personality. In his youth David played Little League baseball for the Cubs. His family's fondest memories of those times were when his team won the league championship. David played shortstop and had pitched in that game, he was named MVP of the championship game. David enjoyed training at the gym and took great pride in his strength and physical fitness. David looked forward to outdoor activities, especially fishing and spending time at the beach. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and enjoyed being around his loved ones. David's family will remember him for his sense of humor, loving nature, and how strong of a person he was. David was a young man with so many aspirations, and so much energy and life, he will be missed tremendously by his family and close friends. David is survived by his father and stepmother, David and Carmen; his brother's Matthew and Joseph Simard; his sister Jamie Simard; stepbrother Eric Mercado; his maternal grandmother Eleanor Ball; aunts and uncles Cheryl Maahs, John Simard, Michael Ball and James Ball; his God-daughter Rose Simard; many nieces, nephews, cousins and distant family members in Maine. David was pre-deceased by his mother, Patricia (Ball) Simard, and his grandparents Omer Ball, Roger Simard, Gloria Emery and Reginald Emery. Due to the current gathering restrictions, funeral services for David will be held privately

My thoughts and prayers are with your family. I remember babysitting David many weekends when he was a child. David was a great kid. David was a good friend to my 2 sons Billy and Nick. The boys enjoyed playing Playstation, baseball, sledding in the back yard in the winter months and sleep-overs. I'm sure he will be dearly missed.

I loved David. As his Cubs Coach, I saw things in him no others in Town saw. He had a beautiful swing, soft hands and a rocket arm. He led our team to the Chamionship as Pitcher and shortstop. It was a game for the ages. Beating an defeated team against all odds. It seamed like the entire town came out to watch the game. David exceled in his finest moment. I had tears seeing his life end far to soon and regret our paths have not crossed. David will always have a special place in my heart. My sincere blessings to the family and thank you for sharing him with me. Coach Bob Worden

David, I'm really going to miss your memorable laugh, your terribly awful but humourous pickup lines and dorky puns, and your relentless positivity. For the two years I worked with you, I felt that you were a ray of sunshine in my dark world, and now, my world and the world is a little bit darker without you; however, you'll always be in my memories, Bucko

David had a heart of gold. Made sure everyone else was alright before himself, made sure everyone had a smile. His laugh, his smile, they joy he brings to every occasion will truly be missed. The love he had for everyone around him was remarkable, esp the love for his family! I'll miss karaoke, the jokes, the bad pick up lines, but most of all his friendship. Forever in my heart and in my prayers. I send the deepest condolences! May you rest in the sweetest peace.
