DAVID A. SMITH

David A. Smith, 76, of Green Valley, Ariz., died of natural causes on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013. He was born on April 18, 1937, in Toronto, Canada. As a young man, David was employed by the Canadian Broadcast Company in Toronto, Ontario, before moving to Hollywood, Calif., in 1964 to work in the television industry in the United States. He enjoyed over 35 years working in the television industry and received 4 Emmy Awards and numerous Emmy nominations for his contributions. He was a cameraman and technical director for many popular TV shows including: The Joey Bishop Show, The Hollywood Palace, ABC's Wild World of Sports, General Hospital, Americas Funniest Home Videos, and Home Improvement.

David moved with his wife, Judi, from Burbank, Calif., to Green Valley in 2002, where he participated in many community activities including: The Green Valley Rotary Club, Green Valley Fire District CERT Team and Fire Corps, and he was a proud member of the Board of Directors for the Green Valley Fire District.

He was predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Judith Smith of Green Valley, 18 months ago.

David is survived by his son Mike Smith and his wife Ellen of San Diego, Calif.; his daughter Cyndi Smith of Poway, Calif.; three grandsons: Anthony Smith, Ryan Smith and Eric Smith of San Diego; and one great grandson; Conner Smith.

Per David's wishes, there will be no services. The Family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name be made to: The Green Valley Rotary Club, PO Box 701, Green Valley, AZ 85622.
