David "Dave" Sommers

64, of Suwanee, GA, passed away on November 19, 2016. Dave was born in Indianapolis on November 24, 1951. Graduate of Brownsburg High School, Brownsburg, IN. Dave served in the Army for 23 years. Ranked as a Master Sargent. Stationed at Ft Bragg, Fort Campbell, Korea, Iraqi, 1st Desert Storm, Germany, Hawaii & 1976 "Freedom Train". After retiring from the Army, he completed his Computer Science & Technology Degree in 2001 at the young age of 50 from DeVry University, Atlanta, Georgia. He retired from SunGard in 2008.

Preceded in death by his loving mother, Joanne (Swift) Sommers.

Dave is survived by his wife, Soon, of 38 years. Three sons: Jeff Hiatt, VA, David, Jr. Sommers & Evan Sommers, GA. Father: Raymond F. (Myrna) Sommers; IN, Brothers: Steve, AZ; Joe, OH; Andrew (Elena), CA; Dan (MJ), UT, Bruce, CA; Sisters: Linda (Bob) Alltop, IN; Sharon (Todd) Harpold, IN; StepBrother: Kevin (Debe) Bultman IN; StepSisters: Elaine (Chris) Huehls, IN, Linda (Andy) Spears, MI, Gail Bultman, IN; Grandchildren: Isaac, Kailee, Lucas, Alice.

Final arrangements are being handled by Ingram Funeral Home, Cumming, GA. Funeral Services with Military Honors will be held on Monday, Nov 28, 2016 at 12:30 p.m., Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA 30114.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or K9s for Warriors.
