David Strother Obituary

David E. Strother, Jr., of Marlton, NJ, passed away Friday, February 11, 2022, at the Samaritan Center of Voorhees, after a long, courageous battle against cancer. He was 49 years old. Born and raised in Lower Bucks County, Dave was a 1990 graduate of Pennsbury High School and the Bucks County Technical High School, and had resided in Marlton, NJ for the past year. He served his country during Operation Desert Storm in the U.S. Army, being discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He went on to serve his community by being sworn in as a patrolman on March 3, 1997 with the Middletown Township Police department, was a crash constructionist, a member of the MTPD motor unit, and was part of the regional FBI task force. Dave retired with the badge and title of Detective and was a member of the Bucks County FOP Lodge, #53. Dave was a former member of the Levittown #1 and Fairless Hills Fire Companies, an avid car and motorcycle enthusiast, a fan of the Philadelphia Sports teams, especially the Flyers, and Musician Tom Petty. He is survived by his wife Erica L. (Benoff) Belmont, two children; Victoria T. Strother and Ethan C. Belmont. Son of the late David E. Strother, Sr., he is also survived by his mother Donna Strother (Jim Bush); siblings Ryan S. Strother, Kevin M. Strother (Bryne S.); Holly Lynn Hanni (Brent C.); Christopher R. Werner (Heather M.); and Kimberly A. Hadjar, several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Life Celebration, Sunday, February 20, 2022, from 11AM until the time of his funeral service at 2PM., at the Beck/Givnish Life Celebration Home, Inc., 7400 New Falls Road, Levittown, PA 19055. His committal service will be held precisely at 9AM, Monday, February 21, 2022 at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940. There will be no viewing Monday morning. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions for his childrens education can be made to; "In Memorial of David E. Strother, Jr.," c/o Police and Fire Fighters Federal Credit Union-Marlton Crossing Branch, 237 Route 73, Marlton, NJ 08053
