David F. Thomas

David F. Thomas April 10, 2023 David F. Thomas, 89, of Cleveland, NY died on Monday, April 10, 2023 at his home. He grew up in North Syracuse where he joined the Sea Hawks and met Marjorie, his soul mate. In 1950, he graduated from North Syracuse High School and joined the US Air Force where he continued to hone his carpentry skills. He was a lifelong member of the carpenters' union, retiring in 1994 from P&C. On May 1, 1954, David married Marjorie, the love of his life. Starting in North Syracuse, they later moved to Cleveland, building their life together. He enjoyed his children, teaching them to love the written word and music. He was an avid reader, who loved puzzles of all kinds and watched Jeopardy every evening. An avid record collector, David scoured flea markets and thrift stores for hours amassing a collection of thousands of favorites and rarities. Surviving are his wife, the former Marjorie L. Salisbury; children, David C. (Kim) Thomas, Beverly L. (Mike) Giannetto, John F. Thomas, Teresa A. (Mike) McCarthy, Andrew J. (Debbie) Thomas and Bong (Finina) Aranez; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a large extended family. Services will be Thursday, April 20, 2023 at the Cleveland United Methodist Church, 73 Bridge Street, Cleveland with the family greeting friends from 10 am to 12 noon followed by a memorial service, military honors and reception.
