David Valdez

David Kristobal Valdez, 27, passed away with his wife, Erika, holding him on Wednesday, July 13, 2016. David was born on Feb. 2, 1989, in Ontario, Ore., to Veronica Valdez. During his childhood, he lived in Texas, and he moved to Rochester, Minn., in 2002. In that same year, he met his soul mate, Erika. David and Erika (Chamley) were married April 10, 2015, and have four beautiful children, Jayden (8), Adrian (5), Jayla (2) and Adriana (3 months).

David was a devoted, loving husband and father. He loved to laugh, and more than anything, he loved being with his family. He also enjoyed looking at cars, shoes, shopping and sneaking snacks into bed. David was a hard worker. His current employer was Gauthier Industries. He was so proud to go to work every day to provide for his family. David was truly an amazing man, the best father, a wonderful husband, son, brother and friend. David will be missed by all. 

David is survived by his wife, Erika Valdez; four children, Jayden, Adrian, Jayla and Adriana; grandparents, Guadalupe/Juanita Vasquez, Rosilio Martinez; his mother, Veronica (Valdez) Vasquez; father, Juan Vasquez; sister, Kristal (Michaell) Serra-Vasquez; brother, Juan Vasquez; nieces, Makaya, Jesika and Bela; nephew, Juan Vasquez II; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. David was proceeded in death by Baby Valdez, grandmother, Minerva Vasquez-Martinez; uncle, Paul Martinez; and second cousin, Esme Garcia.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 18, 2016, at 4 p.m., with Pastor Shaun Gustafson, of High Point Church presiding, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, 1624 37th St. NW, Rochester, Minn. Visitation also will be Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
