I took care of David for quite a while during his stay on IMCU at Community Hospital. We shared lots of stories as he grew up knowing my in-laws...and told me lots of stories of his childhood in Griffith. He was a wonderful man, and very brave under the circumstances. I took him out when he went home, and when I heard of his passing only six short days later...I was very sorry. To his wife and kids, grand-kids and to his dad, Ed. I am so sorry for your loss...I am happy though, that he didn't suffer....and it was quick for him. But for family...the loss id great and he will be missed...Remember all the memories, and keep him close....He will always watch over all of you....He is in better hands now, and the LORD BLESSED you, just having him as long as you did.

Mine and my family's thoughts and prayers are with you all. I remember all of you when you had the Griffith Stop & Shop. I would come thru the back door. I remember Dave teasing me and he always laughed or had a smile. All of you made me feel like family. Then you went to St. John. My family also moved there. I was 15 yrs. old when I started to work after school running the cash register. I have many fond memories of working with Dave and of all the Welch family. When you 1st met me, I called myself Jody! All of you still call me this. This is Toby Gard's daughter, Kathy.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there... I do not sleep.
I am the thousand winds that blow...
I am the diamond glints on snow...
I am the sunlight on ripened grain...
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you waken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of gentle birds in circling flight...
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry—
I am not there... I did not die...
