David Whitaker

David Whitaker was born in Norman, Okla. on the 17th day of July, 1955. He departed this life at the Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City at the age of 52 years on the 2nd day of April, 2008 due to a sudden illness.David was a lifetime resident of Cleveland County. He grew up and attended school at Noble. He graduated with the Class of 1973. He received an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Air Force. David was employed with the United First Financial Group in Oklahoma City. He had just received a promotion as a Branch Manager. He was also employed as a car salesman, owned his own insurance agency, and owned and operated his own carpet cleaning and landscaping business.David was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Wanda (Janie) Whitaker.Those who survive him include his only son, D.J. Whitaker and his wife Tiffany of Choctaw, Okla.; two brothers, Chuck Whitaker and his wife Mary of Pauls Valley, Okla., and Scott Whitaker and his wife Debbie of Norman; two sisters, Penny Johnson of Noble, and Paulette Coulter of Broken Arrow, Okla.; his birth father, Bill Gray of Norman; his half brothers, Billy Gray and his wife Kelli of Colorado Springs, Colo., Carl Gray of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., and Robin Gray of Noble; half sister, Sonja Tramblie and her husband Michael of Norman; eight nieces and nephews; three great nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 7, 2008 at Noble First Baptist Church, with Rev. Joe Grizzle officiating.Interment will follow at Noble IOOF Cemetery with the U.S. Air Force Funeral Honor Guard.Casket Bearers will be Dennis Anderson, Alan Deatherage, Roger Bottoms, Daniel Bottoms, Vincent Evans, and Ronnie Gray.Services are under the direction of Memorial Chapel Funeral Service of Noble.Visitation Hours will be Sunday, April 6, 2008 from 9 a.m.?6 p.m. at Memorial Chapel Funeral Service.Please make donations to the David B.
