Bought many pipes from him starting in the early 60's at Diebels and his shop in Westport. Last saw David about 15 years ago when he and his perpetual Airedale met me in the Cook's parking lot in my auto hauler where I bought my final pipes from him. Miss him a lot.

I knew David for over 55 years back to the time he worked with Diebel and Carl Ehwa. Later when he started Bufflehead and even after he “retired” when I would come back to KC I would still buy some of his pipes. Great guy who loved his airedale dog.

Mr Windsor sold me my very first pipe when he was Fred Diebel’s Vice President. I also have a written response singed by him when I wrote Diebel’s asking about blends. I also remember a photo of him and “Fidel” that he had hanging in his cigar humidor of his Westport shop. He had an amusing story about that picture. He was always a very friendly and helpful man when I was a new smoker. I’m just reading about his passing now nearly a year later, after some Facebook postings regarding tobaccos he used to carry. RIP.
