David Winograd Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 4, 2024.
David Mark Winograd, 72, of Kissimmee, Florida, passed away on October 5, 2024. He was born on July 10, 1952, in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, and will be remembered as a devoted partner, father, and grandfather, admired for his intelligence, humor, and generous spirit.

From working as a taxi driver and off-Broadway actor to becoming a professor and voice actor, David led a dynamic and varied career. In 2000, he earned a doctorate in Distance Education from Arizona State University, contributing significantly to the evolution of virtual education. He shared his passions for technology, literature, theatre, and art with his children, Ian Winograd and Lily (Winograd) Pantaleo (spouse: Rowan Pantaleo), who continue his legacy, along with his beloved grandchildren: Cole, Eloise, Simon, and Felix.

David shared a life of joy and adventure with his beloved partner, Regina Vogel, traveling the world and treasuring every moment together with their two beloved dogs Lily and Cookie. He was committed to making a difference, founding a computer center in Nairobi for disadvantaged children and sponsoring Kenyan students to further their education.

He enjoyed exploring Apple technology, listening to smooth jazz and contemporary rock, watching and analyzing movies, reading across all genres, and engaging in spirited discussions. David's intelligence, kindness, and eagerness to share his knowledge left a lasting impact on those who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
