Dave,

It's hard to believe it has been a year since you went to be with the Lord, all your family and loved one's. You are missed by all who knew you and call you Friend., Husband, Dad, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa. The Lord saw how good you were here and took away all your
pain and made you one of his many special Angels. Though you are greatly missed your laughter and zeal for life remain in the minds of all the lives you touched. For this we all carry the memories made with you, and speak of you often, so that you can hear and know that you are not forgotten. Til we all meet again in God's Heavenly Kingdom and are too in the embracing hands of the Lord. Gone from our view but forever in our Heart's and Minds, knowing your watchfuly gazing down upon us everyday,

I will remember Dave as a wonderful caring neighbor. He not only kept his own lawn immaculately groomed like a golf course.... but helped manage my yard as well. From getting rid of the ground hog under my garage, to removing brush, mowing, and setting my garbage by the road on pick up day... he was always helping myself and others out in times of need. Both he and Dee are caring wonderful people that I've been lucky enough to have a neighbors for over 20 years. My condolences to the family.

I'm very sorry to hear of Dave's passing. I first met Dave when I hired in a Kellogg's in 1972. I was working in the same department he would give me advice on a job I was a signed if I hadn't done it before. He was always friendly to me and I've always wondered over the years how he was doing. Again to his family, sorry for your loss.

Dave was and will always be remembered by me as a great man. He loved his family and spoke of this love thru memories of times shared and times to come. I first met Dave at sweetwater's the local coffee and donut shop in 1998. We would become friends much later, that's when I also realized I knew Dee. Dee used to cut my hair at the Hairshed in downtown Battle Creek. I enjoyed hanging out at sweetwater's listening and watching people. Dave would share memories of life as a child growing up on the family farm, attending school, work, bein born on a cold day in March in the Model T on the way to the hospital and especially his family. His face would light up with joy when he'd talk of his parents, siblings, his children and the memories made. He'd often tell how he told his children how he had to walk to school, in all kinds of weather. He would laugh when he revealed to them where his school was, the country school was across the road from the family farm. Dave invited me to return to St. Joseph Catholic Church where I attended as a child. At sweetwater's Dave rarely ate the sweet's, instead he'd sit at the counter or the old round table with friend's as he had before at Zeller's donut shop before they closed. Zellers formerly on Territorial in Lakeview. Dave would offer help and give assistance where needed. He spoke often of his love for the outdoors and all there was to be done. Being with Family and being involved with his sibling's children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren, niece's and nephew's lives. He especially enjoyed bein out on a zero turn mowing the lawn and the garden he'd plant at his son Mike and daughter in law Donna's home. He would share the fruit's of the crops with all of us at sweetwater's. Dave was also an avid mushroom hunter, Dee showed me photo's of one of his hauls. Dave loved his Marshall Redskins and would say how even though the mascot changed, he was and would always be a Marshall Redskin. Dave was also a Michigan fan who made a bet with a friend, if Michigan beat OSU the friend wore Michigan sweatshirt, and if the opposite Dave would have to wear an Ohio State sweatshirt. He'd talk about the trips taken with friend's golfing and the courses. When he talked of fishing, Dave would mention fish fry's done in the driveway of the family home with his son Mike. As well as deep frying Turkey's for his own Family and neighbor's. Plowing snow and his son David helping him as a child to clear the way. Oh how there is much that I could say about Dave, I will miss him my friend the memories made and his infectious laughter. Goin to breakfast at the Big Boy with Dee and Dave after Mass and a few of their close friend's is also a fond memory. I'll never forget my friend David "Dave" Ford Wygant, the man was young at heart and always a prankster. Dave spoke of his friend Lee who was also quite the prankster himself. He loved life to the fullest, he lived every day like it could be the last. Dave was a good man in a time where this is uncommon, but when found was like a breath of fresh air and sun shining brightly. Prayer's go out to Dee, their children their family's his sister's and brother's, that God keep you all in his embrace as you grieve your Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather. May God's love guide and comfort you all in these and times to come. Knowing that Dave is in Heaven watching over ya'll now and always til you see him there again. Love and miss you my friend. Your now in the arm's of God's great healing Love. Til we all meet again, moment's in each of our lives and forever in our heart's.
