I did not know Davis, but he must have been a fine man judging by the comments. As I believe Maureen Dean (nee' Conway) was his spouse and a dear friend from my university days, I hope her loss will diminish over time. Losing a loved one is never easy.

Brother and Sister Dean, and family:
I am very sorry to read about Davis. I remember the Dean family filing into church every Sunday service. We enjoyed our childhood lives together. In high school, Davis would always look out for me as another one of his little sisters.
I think about our families and how all us children have grown up, started families and moved away. No matter where we live, our memories will always hold us together.

Growing up in the Highland area has had, and continues to have, a strong influence on who I am. Influences that are often so subtle that you don't realize their importance. The sudden news of Davis's passing has struck a deep chord, for he was one of those influences. Although years have passed since I last met Davis, I will never forget him. A person of incredible warmth, calmness, and always a smile. Davis carried with him an aura of goodness that always welcomed you in. I believe some of that goodness rubbed off on everyone he met. That was Davis's gift to us -a gift to be shared. To Maureen, Keegan, and the Dean family, I extend my deepest condolences.

My Husband and I are so shocked and saddened by the passing of our friend Davis. A kinder, funny and wonderful father and friend could never be found. He and Maureen and Keegan came to stay with us in Australia and he made friends at the pub before we did - he walked nightly to look for kangaroos and never saw a one...I will invite him to walk with us now and hopefully he can see many. We are praying for his family will always remember this gentle and loving man. Anne & Ray Dunston, Australia

As a kid, I looked up to Davis ... yes he was taller, bigger and stronger. In time, I came to understand and appreciate his calm, that he was fair, supportive, polite, and many other fine qualites. Though years have passed since those loud and fun times on Highland, deep down I know Davis was and will always remain a dear friend - many great memories to call upon. Davis, hope we cross paths again some day. Till then, from time to time, I'll be looking up to you. To Maureen, Keegan and the Dean family, I extend my heartfelt condolences.

I was so saddened to hear about the passing of my lovely cousin at such an early age. I can only trust that God knows all and has a plan for our lives, even before we are conceived. Davis touched so many people in his short time on earth, and I know he made a difference that will last long beyond his years.
Aunt Vivian, Uncle Dave, Adrian, Alienne, Delores, all of his other sisters and brothers (my younger cousins), my family, all of his friends and co-workers are in my thoughts and prayers.
Davis will be missed and loved forever.

Maureen, Keegan, and the extended Dean Family....please accept our most sincere and deepest sympathy at this most difficult time.....
Sometimes life seems hard to bear,
Full of sorrow, trouble, and woe
It's then I have to remember
That it's IN the valleys I grow.
If I always stayed on the mountain top
And never experienced pain,
I would never appreciate God's
love and would be living in vain.
I have so much to learn
And my growth is very slow,
Sometimes I need the mountain tops,
But it's in the VALLEYS grow.
I do not always understand
Why things happen as they do,
But I am very sure of one thing.
My Lord will see me through.
My little valleys are nothing
When I picture Christ on the cross
He went through the valley of death;
His victory was Satan's loss.
Forgive me Lord, for complaining
When I'm feeling so very low.
Just give me a gentle reminder
That it's in the valleys I GROW.
Continue to strengthen me, Lord
and use my life each day
To share your love with others
And HELP them find their way.
THANK YOU for valleys, LORD for
this one thing I know
The Mountain tops are glorious
BUT, it's in the valleys I grow.
With love....Ruth and Dante

To the Entire Dean Family:
Just Because
Just because he no longer stands in front of your eyes doesn't mean you can't see him.
Close them, he is there.
Just because he no longer answer when you call his name doesn't mean you can't hear him.
Speak softly, listen carefully, there is his voice.
Just because he can no longer touch your hands doesn't mean you can't feel him.
Hold on to another, his arms are there.
Just because he is no longer there to show you that he loves you doesn't mean his love is gone. Place your hand on your heart, feel its beat. He is there.
Know that he is with God.
Know that God is with you.
And in that you are still with each other.

Dear Maureen, Keegan & Lloyd
Sorry for your loss. We've only gotten to know Davis in the last year. He used to come down to the Harbour for his coffee every morning (Art's Bait & Tackle). He was kind, pleasant and always smiling. He stayed for a fishermans breakfast on September 9, 2006 of blueberry pancakes and sausage and it meant a lot to him that he was invited. I don't think we saw too much of him after that and wondered about him. He will always be in our memory.

We are so sorry to hear about Davis passing. I (Jacquelyne) had the opportuntiy to work with Davis at Enwin/Windsor Utilities for years as a matter of fact both Davis and I were hired around the same time. I remember when I told Davis that I married his cousin Rod and from then on he always looked out for me at work and would always come see me to say hi when he came to the downtown office. He use to always tell me he remembered when Rod was a baby staying with Aunt Vivian. I pray and know that God will comfort his wife, son and all family members at such a difficult time.
