Adamson (Schwalm)

Dawn M. Adamson (nee Schwalm), age 46, of Granite Falls, N.C. and formerly of Stow, Ohio, died August 14, 2018 in a single car accident in Montana while traveling with the Wounded Warrior Project. She will be lovingly remembered by her two children: Jake Bitner (Brittany Siebenhaar) and Jordan Adamson; grandson, Jaxson Bitner and granddaughter, Tiana. She also leaves behind her mother, Carole Kozlowski; father, Ted Schwalm; sisters, Kimberley Graves, Michelle Schultz (Jesse), and Jessica Kozlowski; brother, Michael Schwalm; nieces, Stephanie Rafferty, Janet Rafferty, Savannah Schwalm and Mallorie; nephews, David Graves (Yayoi), Logan Starcher, Michael and Kaleb; great niece, Aurora; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Dawn, a 1989 graduate of Stow High School, served her country in Operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield where her rank was E-4 in the U.S. Army. Dawn also served in Afghanistan as a member of the West Virginia National Guard. She was passionate about veterans' issues and her faith - she loved to sing in the church choir. Dawn's sense of humor was witty and oftentimes hysterical. She could bring a person to tears of laughter, even on their worst day! Her patience, kindness, and loving heart will be remembered and missed by all who knew her.

Calling hours for family and friends will be Tuesday, August 21, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224. A service will be held Wednesday, August 22 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a military service at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project in her name or help her family with the final expenses by making a donation to the "Help us remember Dawn Marie Adamson" GoFundMe campaign. www.GoFundMe.com/help-us-remember-dawn-marie-adamson

I had the pleasure of knowing this angel and am a better man to be able to call her my friend. She touched so many peoples lives through her funny since of humor and her quirky ways, but you knew at a glance that she cared beyond belief. Sometimes it seemed that she cared more about other people than she did herself. Her unselfish attitude towards other people made her a shining star that would stand out in a crowd. I am such a better person for knowing her and my life has been changed for the better since our paths have crossed. Dawn, you will forever be that star that I look up at night when I am searching for some guidance. To quote some military traditions, Dawn carry on your mission to help people in your own special way beyond our reach and hurt no more. We have the watch through your selfless guidance. We have the watch.
