Dawn M. Holt

Dawn M. (English) Holt, 65, died Monday at University of Mass. Medical Center after a short illness. Born in Syracuse N.Y., the daughter of the late Clifford and Marie (Flo) English, she lived in California for 10 years and in Marlborough for 36 years. She was employed for most of her life in purchasing, for August Supply while in CA, Butcher Wax and Staples while in Marlborough and later worked part time for Hannaford's Super Market. She was a long time active member of First Church (in Marlborough) Congregational and an enthusiastic member of the church choir. She was a dedicated member of the Marlborough Office of Cultural Affairs, and worked diligently during the former Labor Day Festivals and numerous theatre productions and cultural events. She was also involved for many years with the Ceil Sharon dance studio. A women who loved her life, she enjoyed her surroundings, wherever she was at the time, loved to travel with friends and devote her time to her loving grandchildren. The highlight of her life was taking her grandchildren to CA, without their parents, where she and uncle Pat could lavish an unending spoiling upon them. She had completed her plans for a Mothers Day trip to CA again the day before being stricken ill. She is survived by her daughter, Jaimie Goliger and her husband Russ of Marlborough, her son, Patrick Holt and his fiance, Jackie Pallavicini of So. San Francisco CA. 3 grandchildren, Olivia, William and Timothy Goliger, a brother, Ralph English of Marlborough and was predeceased by a brother William. She also leaves her former husband James R. Holt and his wife Trish who were devoted friends. Her funeral will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the First Church (in Marlborough) Congregational, 37 High St., Marlborough. Visiting hours at William R. Short and Son Funeral Home, 95 West Main St. will be on Friday from 4-7 p.m..
