1941 – 2016
It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected and peaceful passing of Dawn on April 21, 2016 - family matriarch, life-long teacher and friend to so many. Beloved wife and soulmate of 50 years to Darel, cherished mother to Bev (Tarek) and Jill (Christian), most generous grandmother to Sarah, Alya, Karram, Adam, Andrew and Nicolas, great-grandmother to six and eldest sister to Judy (Doug), Shirley (John), Lyndon (Doreen) and Valerie (Brian) and special aunt to many. In her last days, she was surrounded by those who loved her and we are forever grateful to have shared in this journey with her. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 27 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at McGerrigle Funeral Home Inc., Ormstown; as well as on Thursday, April 28 as of 12:30 p.m. at St.Paul's United Church, Ormstown followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the Women's Auxiliary of the Barrie Memorial Hospital (28 Gale St., Ormstown, QC J0S 1K0) or St.Paul's United Church (19 Lambton St., Ormstown, QC J0S 1K0) would be most appreciated. The family would like to thank everyone who has supported them during this time, especially Dr. John Hortop and the 3rd floor staff at the Barrie Memorial Hospital, as well as Mr. Alain Villeneuve and the Huntingdon CLSC nursing team for their care and compassion.
