Dawn Thergood Obituary
Elder Dawn Marie Thergood, age 59 of Bridgeport entered into eternal rest Sunday, January 26, 2014 in the comfort of her home. Born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Frank and Maureen Vanderveer Thergood; Dawn was the second of nine children. She has been a resident of Bridgeport since 1959 and was employed as a CNA with Maxim Health Care Services. Dawn was ordained in 1994 at the Sound of Praise Pentecostal Fellowship and also served as Elder at Community Tabernacle, Stamford, CT. In addition to her parents, a brother, Frank predeceased her. She leaves to cherish her memory her children Jamaine, Markie, Lamont and Manisha Thergood, Dwight and Devan Jarvis; her siblings, Anthony, Kim, Melody, Rory, Eddie, Candy and Faith; nine grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 3, 2014, 3:00 PM at Morton's Mortuary, Inc., 25 Margaret E. Morton Lane, Bridgeport with Bishop Michael Densmore, officiating. Interment will take place Tuesday, February 4, 2014, 9:00 AM at Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends are invited to the viewing Monday from 1:00 - 3:00 PM at the funeral home. To the Thergood Family, We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Dawn. She was a very sweet person. We all grew up together on the East Side of Bridgeport. We remember her brothers, sisters, and her mother. You have our sympathy, and prayers that the Lord God, will strengthen you in this hour.

To the Thergood Family, My thoughts and prayers are with you all, may you find strength in the many good memories I am sure you all have. Dawn and I grew up together as children, walking back and forth to school and also playing in Washington Park in the good old summer days. She was my dear friend and in time we moved on as our lives changed. However there were the few times we would run into each other and still had our love and many memories we would laugh about. My heart is heavy with sorrow, and I know she had so much love to pass around that there will be many people who lost a good parent, sibling, friend. May she rest in peace.
