Dean could light up a room with his charisma alone. He could talk to anyone about anything and I enjoyed his stories at our family holidays. Dean inspired me with a few of his medical textbooks when I was 16 and studying A&P. His memory and legacy will live on through everyone he’s touched , from patient to family. Much love Kathy , sending light and love to you , Brandon and Alison

TRIBUTE TO DEAN C. RICH, MD
It is said that a life well lived is a legacy and a living lasting memory. Each of us born into the world bring their own gifts to the table and Dean brought many throughout his life.
Dean was in a class all by himself. He was a brilliant man blessed with gifted hands of an excellent neurosurgeon helping patients every day. He was humble, honest, and generous with a unique sense of humor. Dean also had a very soft side to him that some people may or may not have known but those close to him saw this. As an example, one morning the Neonatal nurses called me at the office at 6:30 AM excited to share their joy in the news of watching Dr. Rich, the Mainline Neurosurgeon, feeding one of the babies and looked so happy and content in doing so. As some of his pediatric patients would mature and grow up they kept in contact with him sending announcements of special events that happened in their lives, and reminded him they have never forgotten the great doctor that saved their lives.
The world has lost a great human being who touched the lives of so many people and one that formed many friendships along the way with good times shared.
Dean, your friends will truly miss you but you will always hold a special place in our hearts. May you rest in peace my dear friend.
In loving memory.

Dean was my next-door neighbor for almost fifty years. No one has ever had a kinder, more caring or more generous neighbor. I was deeply disappointed when he told me he was moving. I think of Dean often.

I'm so sorry that I missed the services. I worked with Dr. Rich from 1980 on.... He was so respected and a wonderful physician. I am sure he packed much more fun into the time he had in retirement than the years he was given. My sincere prayers of comfort to his family. I'm so grateful that I got to work with him.
