Deanna Finnerty Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 21, 2025.
Deanna Sharon Finnerty (née Bosco) passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025, in Lady Lake, Florida. Born on January 3, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio, Deanna's life was filled with love, creativity, and cherished moments shared with family and friends.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Brian Logan Finnerty; their children, Brianna (Ray) Johnson, Megan (Tad) Taft, and Morgan (Cheryl) Finnerty; and their grandchildren, Matt (Hiba) Gordon, Brian (Samantha) Riggione, Logan Taft, and David (Lacy) Prescott. Deanna was also blessed with four great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sisters, Judith Jones and Larraine Moore, as well as many nieces and nephews who will forever hold her memory close. She was predeceased by her parents, Leonard and Wilma Bosco; her sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Stephen Zappia; her in-laws, Farrell and Bertha Finnerty; and her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Alice and Bob Durst, Lois and Kevin Finnerty, Buddy Finnerty, and Nancy Finnerty.

A woman of many talents, Deanna had a passion for crocheting beautiful blankets, coloring intricate patterns, and creating one-of-a-kind ceramics. She was an adventurer who loved exploring new places through her fondness for cruises. She also found immense joy in playing Pokeno with friends-a pastime that brought laughter and camaraderie to all who participated.

Deanna's warmth, kindness, and generosity touched the lives of everyone she knew. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (www.nbcf.org) in her memory.

Deanna was a kind, caring person. She is one who extended herself for others. Her impact will long be remembered by those fortunate enough to know her. She loved her family and made friends readily. She will be missed by all who knew her. We will pray peace for her family

We lived next to each other in the Euclid Projects 1940's. Deanna was my very first playmate/friend. So many great memories. My condolences to the Bosco family. Hugs to all.

I am so sorry to hear of your passing dear friend. Through the years after your retirement we have talked from time to time and you have been the best person who knows exactly what to say as you have been where I am. May you be at peace and watch over your family and give me words of wisdom as you have always done. I still use your corned beef recipe every year as it is the best! I will definitely miss our chats. All my Love, Tisha Smith
