Debbie Denise Price

On September 7,1971, God saw fit to bless the Price family with the youngest addition of five children, Debbie Denise Price. Gertrude Price her mother always referred to Debbie being born on a leap year, so in HIS divine scheme of life it was only fitting that HE brought her home on March 14, 2024, a leap year.

As a child Debbie was a joyful delight to the family, showing lots of spirit, independence and can-do attitude. Before she could walk or speak, on early morning she climbed out of her crib and began making it up the stairs, where her siblings were sleeping. When her mother awakened to see Debbie missing from the crib she screamed. Everyone awakened to find baby Debbie climbing the stairs towards her siblings to our relief and joy.

Debbie loved her family and neighborhood friends. She enjoyed the many playful horseback rides she received from her older brother Patrick. Watching football games with her brother Ronald as well as watching him play baseball and softball, she was his biggest fan. She played jacks and watched horror movies with her sister Dot and rode bicycles with her brother James. Her favorite past time was jumping rope. All throughout the summer, kids were challenging Debbie's double Dutch crew. They lost. She taught her younger cousin Tessa and her niece Tamika how to be good at jumping rope.

Growing up in the SW area of Washington DC, Debbie attended grammar school at Amidon, middle school at Jefferson Jr High and graduated with honors from Woodrow Wilson High School class of 1989. Debbie enjoyed school especially English and Science. While still in high school, Debbie started working at CIAO, a gourmet food in the George Town area of NW, DC with her older sister Dot (Dorothy). Debbie was a real people person and developed her skills for managing and organizing, which would later serve her well in her career choice. After graduating high school Debbie stayed close to home to care for her aging mother. She chose a career in retail and worked for several Retail Stores such as Learners, Hecht's, Macy's, Burlington's, Nordstroms and the Loft.

Debbie loved her friends and family. She loved attending family gatherings and hanging out with her girlfriends. Debbie was a girlie girl, a fashionista who was always put together while going out. She enjoyed watched the cooking channel, dancing shows, horror movies and was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. She made wonderful friends in her last employment as a government contractor working for the Department of State: Special Issuance Agency a position she loved and was thankful to have.

Debbie faced and overcame many health challenges throughout her brief lifetime.

As a child she developed Scarlet Fever that left her bed ridden, several times, it was GOD and her fighting spirit that allowed her to finally persevere over this illness. Debbie was later diagnosed with a rare allergy to a dye common in almost every prescription medication. Her struggle with this illness and cure was documented on ABC News. Debbie also had COPD and severe asthma which require daily breathing treatments. None of this would stop her from continuing to work and support herself.



Debbie was a nurturer. Although Debbie suffered with her own health issues, her GOD given compassion for others and strong devotion for family allowed her to help care for her mother Gertrude and her eldest brother Patrick until GOD brought them home. Debbie also relocated to Las Vegas for a short time to help her niece Tamika raise her great nieces Amari and Gisell (Gigi) and nephew Marley. Her niece Tamika and her husband Charles were actively serving in the US Airforce at the time and need some assistance from family. Debbie cherished the opportunity to help and bond with her great nieces and nephew. While her niece Brianna attended Howard University, Debbie was there for any emergency and just being Aunt Debbie. Debbie's presence was comforting to her parents Ronald and Kara who lived in California.

Debbie was member of Miles Memorial CME Church, but due to her increased health issues and severe sept ability to the Covid virus she limited her exposure. Debbie's LOVE for the LORD was surely Known from her daily post on Facebook, sharing scripters, positive and uplifting stories, "Thanking GOD for another day".

Debbie touched the lives of so many and asked for so little in return, she had a heart of gold and was as fierce as a lioness. If she was with you then you would know it and if she wasn't you would know that too. Debbie Denise was an inspiring genuine Black woman, and her presence will be missed dearly.

Our family affirms that Debbie Denise Price loved the Lord and believed that his son Jesus Christ died on the cross for our transgression and therefore she was welcomed into the Kingdom of the Lord and is with her mother and brother and all our family that proceeded her in death.

She leaves her precious loving memories with her sister Dorothy Price and brothers Ronald (wife Kara) Price, James (wife Denise) Toliver, cousin/ lil sis Tessa (husband Derrick) Walker and nieces Brianna Price, Tamika (husband Charles) Baker, great nieces Amari, Giselle and great nephew Marley Baker and a host of Loving cousins, relatives and friends.
