BERWICK, Maine — Debbie McAlister Travis, 44, of Tiffany Lane, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2011.

She was born in Nashua, N.H., Sept. 27, 1966, the daughter of Gladys (Chaput) McAlister and Franklyn McAlister Jr. She was a former resident of Somersworth, N.H., where she attended school and moved to Nashua, where she graduated from Nashua High School. She had lived in Kentucky for a period before moving back to Somersworth, N.H., and then to Berwick 10 years ago.

During her school years she was an avid piano player and played piano for the Hackmatack Playhouse.

She had been a dispatcher for Sun Shine Taxi and had worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance Co.

She is survived by her mother, Gladys McAlister of Center Ossipee, N.H.; a daughter, Cassondra "Cassie" Travis of Rochester, N.H.; and a son, David Travis Jr., of Cummings, Ga., and friends that love and will miss her.

In addition to her father she was predeceased by a sister, Diane McAlister, who died in 1968.

There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Sunday, March 6 at the Journey Church, 7 Amarosa Drive, Rochester, N.H., friends are invited to attend. A reception will follow.
