Deborah Boothby Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 10 to Dec. 11, 2015.
Deborah I. Boothby, 62
RAYMOND - Deborah I. Boothby, 62, wife of Philip Boothby Jr., passed away peacefully on Dec. 7, 2015 while surrounded by family at Maine Medical Center. She battled breast cancer since March 2011.
Debbie was born in Westbrook, Feb. 15, 1953, daughter of Mabel and Arthur Berry of Gorham. She was a long time employee of MSAD 6 serving in several capacities where she met many lifelong friends. After retirement she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved swimming, gardening, shopping, attending sporting events, spending time with her grandchildren, and four-wheeling trips with friends to northern and western Maine. She also loved living on Panther Pond and taking rides in her kayak and going around the lake in her pontoon boat with her husband, kids, and grandkids. Debbie especially enjoyed planning the 4th of July party every year. When not floating in the lake, she enjoyed sitting on the patio in the front yard listening to the loons and inviting all that walked by to stop for a visit, talk, and a toast to life.
Debbie was known for her infectious smile and positive attitude. She was strong, gave of herself generously, and lived each day to its fullest. She was affectionately known as Nini and Yaya and would often be caught eating ice cream for lunch with her grandchildren.
Debbie was predeceased by her parents Mabel and Arthur Berry of Gorham and her grandsons, Ethan and Evan Boothby of Standish. In addition to her husband she is survived by her son, Todd Boothby and his wife Sheena, daughter Laurie Willett and her husband Michael; sister, Darlene Warren and her husband Michael and brother, Arthur Berry Jr.; her beloved grandchildren, Madison, Gavin, Brady and Ali; and adopted family, Erby and Jennifer Mitchell and their children Olivia, C.J. and Kennadi; father-in-law Philip Boothby Sr.; brother-in-law Mark Boothby and his wife Debbie, sister-in-law Cynthia Boothby and her husband John Drisko, sister-in-law Nancy Fowler and her husband Gary; along with many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at the New England Cancer Center in Scarborough, the Cancer Community Center in South Portland, and the staff at Maine Medical Center for their compassionate care.
Visiting hours will be held 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, at the Dolby Funeral Chapel 434 River Road, Windham. A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Dec.12, at the LifeChurch 8 Elkins Road, Gorham. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.dolbyfuneralchapels.com
