May 16, 1951 - October 28, 2020 (age 69)
Deborah L. Delp, 69 of Mason succumbed October 28, 2020 to an incurable lung disease which had been a part of her life for years.
She was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 16, 1951 as the first baby to the Allen Wayne Larson and Margot Maria (Helm) Larson. She was married to Ted Ellis Delp on May 22, 1976 in Chicago, IL. She is survived by her husband, her son Shaun Larson Delp and his wife Katherine Gwyn (Utes) Delp of Naples, Florida, her son Ryan Thomson Delp and his wife Megan Elizabeth (Weaver) Delp of Springboro, Ohio, and Kerstin Nicole Delp of Mason, Ohio.
Deborah graduated with a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, Illinois in 1972. She went on the study marketing at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois.
She joined IBM Corporation as a Marketing Representative after college. She was on a National Account Team supporting a United Airlines headquartered in Chicago with remote installations in Denver and San Francisco. During her training with IBM she met her husband, married and moved to Ohio. There they started a family.
In Ohio, Debbie was a consultant & manager for Discovery Toys and became the Director of Operations for Mason Landen Kings Chamber of Commerce for about 3 years. Then a new challenge developed and she became the Office Manager for Ohio State University Extension - Warren County. There she supported agents, managed computers, produced publications, handled accounting for the university, and supported the county 4-H program helping children in the community until her retirement in 2018.
During this period she was co-developer of the Association to Support Kids for the Mason City Schools. It provided parents of school children a place where they could discuss issues together and tackle problems. Later she served years on the Board of Education and as president. She joined the Great Oaks Foundation, Board and also Warren County Board of Developmental Disabilities to continue her support of young people.
God made a loving person in Deborah, caring about others along with a focus on children in the community and love for her family. Her love touched many people and they touched her.
Due to Covid-19, services will be held privately for the family at this time. A Celebration of Debbie's life will be held at a later date.
Donations can be made in Deborah's name to The Community of The Good Shepherd.

I am very saddened to learn of Debbie’s passing. I was blessed to work with her when I was teaching. She was always supportive of all the teachers in Mason. I certainly enjoyed having Ryan in my classroom and the SOAR program. I hope that all the wonderful memories the family have of Debbie will be a comfort to them.

I am truly saddened to hear about Debbie's passing. I will always remember her from the 4H/ Ohio State Extension office. Always a ready smile and a positive attitude . Always helpful and kind with my communication workshops and fair judging events. I know that God has already placed her in a position of importance... and I DO expect to be greeted by her if I am lucky enough to be sent to heaven.
Prayers and condolences to all the family.
