Debra Bremer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 31, 2025.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Debra Johnson Bremer on August 16, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on July 1, 1953. A beloved mother, aunt, great-aunt, niece, cousin, and cherished friend to many, Debbie touched the lives of those around her with her kindness and warmth.

Debbie is survived by her beloved daughter and best friend, Kimberly Keane, and her husband, Robert. Her legacy lives on through her grandsons, Robert (fiancé Raven) and Jacob (fiancé Bella), as well as her brothers, Robert (Carol) Johnson of CA, William Johnson of FL, and Peter (Sue) Johnson of CT. She leaves behind many adored nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, a cherished aunt, beloved cousins, and her devoted dog Olaf, all of whom will miss her dearly.

Born in Wethersfield, Connecticut, Debbie graduated from high school in 1971. She later moved to Florida, where she raised her beloved daughter, Kimberly, who was the light of her life. In Florida, Debbie built a warm and welcoming home, where she treasured her roots while embracing new adventures.

Debbie retired from the Juvenile Welfare Board in Largo after 35 years. She was also the proud owner of Bremer's Lapidary and a member of the Suncoast Gem and Mineral Club. She was truly a rock hound! Debbie had an innate ability to discover the beauty in both stones and people, sharing her love of the rocks with her friends and family and through her jewelry making.

Known for her fun-loving spirit, beautiful smile, and infectious laugh, Debbie embraced life with open arms. Whether she was exploring new dig sites, shopping for the perfect rock, enjoying casino trips, she savored every moment. She spent many nights singing karaoke with her crew at the American Legion.

Debbie treasured the time she spent with her family. Debbie and Kim were a dynamic crafting and cruising duo. The two enjoyed and cherished their time together. She was a proud grandmother to Robert and Jacob. She enjoyed showing them off. Debbie enjoyed visiting her family in CA and CT. She made the most of those visits. Debbie would have her family digging for rocks, beads, shells, driving to the casino, going to tag sales, or simply sitting around reminiscing.

A memorial service will be held on September 5, 2025, at the National Cremation Society, located at 4945 EastBay Dr., Clearwater, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Following the service, we cordially invite you to join us for a Celebration of Life at American Legion #119, located at 130 1st Ave SW, Largo.

In honor of Debbie, we kindly request that you wear blue or purple, colors that she loved and that represent her joyful spirit.

Debbie touched the hearts of many, and her spirit will forever live on in the memories of those who knew her. Her love, laughter, and beautiful smile will be dearly missed.
