I can't believe shes really gone sometimes. Debbie was the spark in this family. The beautiful smile backed up by that awesome laugh. The one that walks in and says "lets get this party started" and did! I can't help but smile when I think of it. She was a true inspiration to people. From the lessons she learned she taught us to be stronger because she did not need us to be strong for her, she was always strong enough on her own. The most important thing she gave was the ability to realize that life goes on, you can be happy and live with a free spirit. Thats what she left me at least and I am grateful for that. Me and my mom will reminisce about her and be so sad but we always land up laughing so hard because there is no sadness when your struck by a memory of her. We should all be the kind of person that is remembered like that. I hope this world has more of you in it aunt Debbie, I'll try to be like that. I miss you...I love you.. I will always remember you..

March 1, 2008

I first met Dave and Debbie through Lawson in 2006 and enjoyed hanging out and riding motorcycles together on the weekends. Debbie was one of the first friends I made when I started coming up here from Charleston. I thought she was just a beautiful person inside and out and I thought the world of her. She was outgoing, friendly, never met a stranger, and made me feel like I was welcomed and that I fit in with the crowd. From time to time I would ask Lawson "Have you heard from Dave and Debbie lately?" or I would ask him to call ya'll up to see if ya'll wanted to go riding. When I found out about the accident, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Today we were at one of the local bars and I really didn't know any of the people there and I said to Lawson, "If Debbie was here, I'd have someone to talk to." We will miss her dearly and it made me realize that sometimes you really don't know how much someone had an impact on your life until they are gone. Dave, we will be there on the 29th to ride in her memory. God bless.

David,

It was a pleasure meeting you and Deb at the dental gathering at Dockside. I have thought of both of you often and very sadden to hear of Deb's death. I will never forget her infamous smile, it has been a part of my memory since that evening. It was obvious that she had a love of you, life, family, and those around her. Dear Dave,
We met at the Octoberfest party in Murrells Inlet this year. I really enjoyed spending so much time visiting and talking with you and Debbie. Truly she was a joyful person to know. Debbie was also a tribute to dental assisting. She had high standards and expectations of herself and her co-workers. She was a perfect mentor for my dental assisting students. I am truly going to miss seeing her beautiful, smiling face when I enter that dental office. My students will not receive a part of their education that Debbie provided in the past. I'm really sad about that. She taught the students that we are all the same and everyone is to be treated with kindness, respect and a big, genuine smile. My prayers are for you and your family. Tears still flow and will for a long time by many people who knew and loved her.

Dave,
I am so sorry for your loss. You know how much we love you and Deb. She was the one that taught Cristie-Lee how to belch oh so many years ago. Cristie-Lee was always so impressed by her talent, that she perfected it just a bit. What a mentor she was, ha ha!! That smile was killer, she could light up a room with those pearly whites. She was such a good listener and a good friend, she will be deeply missed. Please know if you ever need anything big or small, just call, and I will be there for ya. Take care of yourself and know she will be in your heart and dreams always.
Love you always and forever Deb, fly with the angles and we will party again soon, I will have a Captain waiting for ya!!
Love you with all my heart and soul, Cherie and Cristie-Lee
Rest my sweet angle and say hi to my Dad for me.

I can remember back in JFK high school how Deb taught me to dance. Her way with people gave me a measure of self confidence that I carry with me to this day.
I can see that I was only one of many people that Deb touched. I have often thought how nice it would be to see her again and show her how she affected me, and to thank her, I am sure she knows now.
God bless, sweet princess, God bless.

Dear Dave,

There are no words that can adequately express how deeply sorry I am for you losing your beloved Debbie. I can still remember a conversation you and I had, years ago, when you said to me,
"You know, I have the best wife ever."

When Debbie came to work for Dave and me at the Reef, she was just a very young lady. She became such a valued employee and a very valued friend. She went through her life with much love for everyone she knew and, in return, she received the same amount of love from you, her family, and friends. She will always be loved and will be missed very much. I do, however, believe someday we will see that smiling face again and feel her warm embrace.

Dave, please call if you need anything or just want to talk, and know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dave, how do you tell a fiend they will get over losing the love of thier life, we know that's what Debbie was for you, as did anybody else who had the pleasure of getting to know you two, the emptiness that is left when someone you've loved that much is taken away is cavernous.......if there be any peace in your heart, let it be that you were blessed to have that special woman in your life for the time she was given....we are so very sorry and saddened for all our loss....

Dave, What can I say? I was so shocked to hear about Deb. Deb passed on but her memory will always be with us. I sit here and look sadly at a beautiful wreath she made me more than 10 yrs ago! It's all faded, and dusty, but I just never could throw it out, it was so beautiful, just as she was. I was just thinking of you two a few weeks ago, and how much I've missed you two, and laughing it up- all of us. It was always more fun on the days we'd work together at the Reef. I would tell people how you two made me laugh like no others. Dave, I really don't know what to say, except, keep strong, and know she is right there with you.... always.
