Debra Harris Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 21, 2025.
Debra Lynn "Debbie" Harris, 63, passed away on March 14, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on September 10, 1961, in Pontiac, Michigan. She later moved to Florida and graduated from Orange Park High School with the Class of 1979. She continued her education at Jones College.

Debbie found her greatest joy in her family. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Kaleb Harris (Alyssa), Kory Harris (Val), and Kody Fake (Ashton), and Kaitlynn Fake (Justin). Her children were a constant source of strength and comfort during her illness, providing much of her care and support. Debbie also shared a lasting bond with her children's father, Brian Fake.

She was proud to be called "Gigi" and cherished her grandchildren, Arya and Landon Fake.

Debbie is also lovingly remembered by her siblings Theresa Ruggiero (Joseph A), Cheryl Culver (Dan), and Jim Harris; nieces Delana Harbison and Miranda Dyson; nephews Mark Dyson and Matthew Harris. She was preceded in death by her loving mother Charlotte Quinn, father Wesley E. Harris, and brother Brian W. Harris.

Debbie's greatest joy was found in her family and friends. She had a special connection with animals-often rescuing or adopting and caring for those in need. Music was another passion that brightened her days.

Even during the most difficult times of her illness, Debbie's sense of humor remained strong. Her ability to bring smiles to others stood as a testament to her enduring spirit.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to lifelong friend Mary Johns for her steadfast love and support, and to Vitas Hospice for their compassionate care and spiritual comfort.

May Debbie's memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her. Until we meet again in the house of our Lord, so long Debbie/Mom/Gigi/ aunt Debbie. You will be forever in our hearts.
