Loving brother and uncle, WWII Marine Corps veteran
Bruno Zwiazek, 91, of Elmwood Park, N.J., passed away on Monday, Jan. 14, 2019.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the memorial service on Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Kamienski Funeral Home, 207 Ray Street, Garfield, N.J.
Bruno was born in Garfield and lived there for most of his life, settling in Elmwood Park 20 years ago.
He earned his associate's degree in applied science from Mercer County College in 1976.
Bruno was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps, serving in China in World War II.
He worked as a principle field representative for the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs Housing Division for 48 years, retiring in 2011. He enjoyed restoring antique automobiles.
Bruno was the beloved son of the late Alojzy and Anastasia (Melnik) Zwiazek; loving brother of Wanda Hirschboeck of Palm Bay, Fla., the late Albin Zwiazek of Clifton, N.J., who passed away in February 2014, and Milton Zwiazek, who was killed in action Anzio, Italy, in 1944, and awarded the Purple Heart posthumously.
Bruno was the loving uncle of Cecilia Zalkind of Montclair, N.J, Ronald Hirschboeck of Gaffney, S.C., Noelle Turner of Essen, Germany, and Albert Zwiazek of Clifton.
