Susan Ellen Nechodom Cratem passed away January 31, 2021 after her courageous fight with cancer. She had family by her side every step of the way. Sue's passions included family, house, yard, the beach, sweets, music, and science fiction movies and TV series.
Sue was born October 1, 1955 in Kaukauna, Wisconsin. Her family moved to Ocala, FL in the 70's where she graduated high school in 1973. In 1977 she earned her RN degree and license. In 1978, in Jacksonville, FL, she met her loving husband, George, whom she married on September 27, 1980. In 2018, Sue retired from nursing at Baptist Medical Center and Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute.
Sue was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Eileen Nechodom; brothers-in-law Jim Kambach, John Buda, and Brian Killoran; niece Andrea Nechodom. She is survived by her husband, R. George III; children Jennifer Ashley, Reyad George IV, and Seamus Hunter; sisters Bonnie Kambach, Cynthia Buda Flinchbaugh, Victoria Harrell; brothers Paul and Matthew Nechodom; brothers-in-law Dr. John Flinchbaugh, Ted Harrell, and Mark Spiegel; sisters-in-law Oonagh Nechodom, Deanna Nechodom, Susan Killoran, and Stephanie Spiegel. Sue also had 17 loving nieces and nephews.

Thomas, the nurses and staff of Cancer Specialists of North Florida, Cynthia Buda, Oonagh Nechodom, Susan Killoran, Mallory Flinchbaugh, Maddison Buda, Stephanie & Mark Spiegel, Bonnie Kambach and Anneliese Dupre, whose care, advice and support gave us at least 30 more years than we thought we had with our beloved Sue.
A 10 AM rosary and 10:30 AM mass will be held at Assumption Catholic Church, 2403 Atlantic Blvd, Jacksonville FL on February 15, 2021 followed by a committal service at Oaklawn Cemetery with a reception to follow at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Legacy Lodge, 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville FL.
