HUNTLEY - Delores Szadowski, 84, of Huntley, and formerly of Streamwood, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, at St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin.
She was born in Chicago on Dec. 7, 1921, to Edward and Elizabeth (Renkosiak) Wiszo-Waty.
She was a five-year resident of Huntley and a former 20-year resident of Streamwood. She was a former 20-year employee of Williams Electronics in Chicago, where she worked as a personal assistant.
She was a former member and Woman of the Year of the Streamwood Junior Woman's Club. She was a founding member of the Royal Airs Drum and Bugle Corps of Chicago.
She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church of Huntley.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Alex J. Szadowski, whom she married Oct. 10, 1943; three children, Kenneth (Sharon) Szadowski of Carpentersville, Janice (Paul) Jakacki of South Barrington and Donna (Tom) Wardzala of Huntley; eight grandchildren, Kent (Archana) Szadowski, Russell (Hollie) Szadowski, Debra Jakacki, Corrine (Steve) Dattomo, Lesley Jakacki, Karen (fianc & eacute;, James Gonzales) Jakacki, Sarah Wardzala and Kavin Wardzala; four great-grandchildren, Haley Szadowski, Allison and Steven Dattomo and Nathan Szadowski; and a sister, Gerrie Kuna of La Grange Park.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Norma Mueller and Bette LaSota.
The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, at Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St., West Dundee.
The funeral will be at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at the funeral home, proceeding for a Mass celebrated at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Huntley.
Burial will be in the St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.
