Deloris D. Shaw

Mrs. Deloris Delmera Shaw passed away peacefully in Houston, Texas on April 16, 2015 at the age of 84.

Deloris Delmera Shaw was born on December 29, 1930 in Kingston, Jamaica to Joseph Gordon and Violet Absolum. She graduated from Micro College with a degree in cosmetology. Deloris married Rollin Shaw 1975, after moving to Brooklyn, New York.

Deloris was a generous, witty, dedicated individual who loved her family and extended family and who was passionate about education.

Deloris Delmera Shaw is survived by husband, Rollin Shaw, children; Phillip Rodriques, Margaret Rodriques, Marjorie Rodriques, Rosalee Rodriques, Jasmine Rodriques, Ann-Marie White, Georgia Gray, Andrew Shaw and Richard Shaw. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Gordon, mother, Violet Absolum, and Sister Dorette Anderson. She leaves 22 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grand Children, and countless extended family members.

A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Garden Oaks Funeral Home, 13430 Bellaire Blvd., Houston, TX 77083 from 6 pm- 9 pm. A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, April 24, 2015 at The Bridge Southwest Community Christian Center , 14880 Bellaire Blvd., Houston, TX 7083 at 11 am. A committal service will immediately follow the funeral service at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery at 12800 Westheimer Rd., Houston, TX 77077 immediately following funeral service. A repass will follow at Ms. Betty’s Residence immediately following the burial. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ms. Betty's life.
