Denis Conway Kelleher

Denis Conway Kelleher Okoboji - Denis Conway Kelleher, 80, peacefully passed away Saturday, June 10th in Okoboji, Iowa.

Denis was born on May 25th 1943 in Fort Dodge Iowa to parents Elizabeth and John Kelleher. He was one of five children, Travis, Molly, Patricia (deceased) and Kathleen (deceased). Denny has had many great achievements in his 80 years. He graduated ASU in 1970, married in 1972, became a father in 1975 and again in '78, '80, & '83. In 2005 he finally retired from Honeywell after a stellar 42-year run. One of his greatest accomplishments came when he fulfilled a lifelong dream of purchasing his grandfather's lake house on Dixon Beach in Okoboji, Iowa with his fianc? Diane. He loved talking about classic cars and boats, jamming to Creedence tapes, drinks on the dock, and cruising the shores of West Lake Okoboji where he was quite the historian of all the lake homes. He could even tell you when the shutters on the homes were last painted. He leaves behind his 4 adult children, Mike Kelleher, Ryan Kelleher(wife Victoria Kelleher), Tim Kelleher, Denise Murphy(husband Dustin Murphy), the mother of his children, Nancy Kelleher, as well as his 3 grandchildren, Ashlyn and Sammy Kelleher and Dylan Murphy. He also leaves behind his fianc? Diane Ringhofer, her daughters Jackie Snell, and Julie Ringhofer, as well as her grandchildren, Hallie and Hunter Snell. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him! A celebration of life will be held for him at a later date.
