Denis LEVESQUE Obituary

Published by Ottawa Citizen on Nov. 11, 2017.
LEVESQUE, Denis Roger Passed away peacefully at the age of 67 on November 7, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer. Loving husband of the late Odette. Proud father of Stephanie (Christopher), Jennifer (Jonathan), and Melissa (Ben). Cherished grandfather of Carrick, Marcel, Emerson, Lincoln, Ethan, and Harlyn. Beloved son of Yvonne. Dear brother of Claude (Cheryl), Cecile (Bill), Diane, Pauline (Mark), and Gisele (Greg). Predeceased by his wife (Odette), father (Alex), and brother-in-law (Daniel). Denis was a man who liked to keep busy. Given his meticulous nature, he thrived on both his work and his seemingly endless list of small projects at the cottage. He loved skiing, travelling, barbecuing, and watching hockey. He treasured his cottage weekends with Odette, where they entertained family and friends for decades, relaxed together over a good read by the fire, or gazed across the lake, enjoying the silence. Denis thoroughly enjoyed his role as patriarch. He was decisive, dedicated, and respectful, and always maintained a sense of humor; these are all qualities that he took to work with him as well. He was a devoted and well respected employee at Carleton University for the past 13 years. Denis will be greatly missed by his many extended family members, friends, and colleagues. His grandchildren will always remember his silly jokes and playful manner. Family and friends are invited to visit at Capital Funeral Home & Cemetery 3700 Prince of Wales Drive 613-692-1211 on Friday, November 24 from 5-7pm and Saturday, November 25 from 10am until the time of the celebration of life at 11 a.m. in the chapel. A reception will follow. Condolences and sharing memories at wwwcapitalmemorial.ca.

I had the honour and pleasure of working with Denis while we were with Canada Post some years ago. Denis was one of the leaders of what was at the time an exceptionally talented communications group that transformed, in the true sense of the word, that IT department, introducing many leading edge technologies and delivering many significant mega-projects. I had great respect for Denis and am very sorry to learn of his passing. My sincere condolences on your loss. Respectfully.

I am truly sorry for your loss. I only knew Denis for a short while, but in that time, he made quite an impression on me. He was a principled person, a man of his word who inspired confidence and trust. He will be missed both personally and professionally. Please accept my heartfelt condolences

I had the pleasure of working with Denis since the early 90's, first with Denis as a customer (CPC), then as a colleague (TRM), then back as a customer at Carleton. A consummate professional in every way. He will be missed. My condolences to the families.

My sincere condolences to the Levesque family and relatives. At Canada Post, during the late-'80s and early 90s, Denis worked with one of the best teams in the ITC community - dedicated, significant achievements and a special 'we can do this' approach - and his positive attitude, friendship and contribution were greatly valued by his colleagues. It was a pleasure to serve with him... he is missed. Adieu, Denis.... Bob Russell

Denis was my manager, mentor, and friend during the years we worked together at iSTAR, PSINet, and TELUS. I always admired his attention to detail and the quiet but dedicated way that he was able to perform his work. I'm so very sorry to hear of his passing and wish to express my condolences to his family.

I had the priviledge of working with Denis at iSTAR Internet/PSI Net Ltd/Telus. His office was located next to mine and we often had discussions about life, health and family. He was a great source of support and wit and I will always treasure our many encounters.

To his family, I am so deeply sorry for the double loss of your parents in such a short period of time.

My prayers are with you all.
